i just got this mackie mixing board and i seriously dont know how to work it very well.. waht im doing is running it from a mic. to the mixing board and then into a digital recorder... the main outs are mix inputs? Left and Right. i thought they would be 1/4 inputs (guitar wire inputs) but whatever. just would someone explain to me what i need to do in detail? thanks!

Your question is much too vague....
But anyways, I suggest you start by reading the 1642 manual........ if you don't have one, then download it from the Mackie site.... they're extremely well-written (eve slightly amusing) and they'll get you started pretty well.... they have excellent routing descriptions for a variety of scenarios....
