room shape

I am building a "room within a room" for sound insolation purposes, so I have some flexibility about the shape of my practice/recording room. Someone told me to avoid walls facing each other being completely parallel. Can any of you tell me any more tips, or good places to look on the web? Just thinking of concert halls and amphitheaters, I'm thinking of going oval-shaped, or at least partial oval. (I have a 90-degree corner I have to use.)
