hey, i've been recording for a while but one of my biggests probles is everyone in the neighborhood are getting mad about the drums.
i want to soundproof it or something. the goal is to reduce the biggest quantity of noise to be heard out of the room.
im on a low budget...so what would yo recomend?

    Smile Drum soundproofing

    You have two options:

    1) Invite the neighbors over and teach 'em how to play drums. They'll have visions of being the next John Bonham, go buy drums themselves and think your cool ! !

    2) The thing about soundproofing is that it's done with "density" and or "dead air space". This is not to be confused with "sound absorbsion". The best advice I can give you is go to the web site for Auralex Acoustics and read " Acoustics 101" there's a wealth of info on this subject there. Here's the page.

Here's the Bible on room treatments that work.

Here's John Sayer's recording site. Be sure to check out the BBS and the forums on treament.

There are some other sites, too. But this is the stuff you need to seriously soundproof a room.
