Newbie needs some help!

Hey guys,

I'm new to home recording so I apologize for my ignorance in advance. I recently bought the focusrite 2i2 bundle with Cubase LE 7. The computer I'm running it off is a 2006 refurbished imac with OSX 10.7.5. My comp is telling me that I can't finish downloading Cubase as it requires OSX 10.8. From what I've read, my 2006 iMac can't run 10.8. Does anyone have any insight? Or ways around this? If someone could walk me through this, I'd sure be grateful.

Buy a PC?

Okay, not helpful but I understand that this is a common problem with macs? They change the OS* and leave you high and dry with unusable stuff.

Maybe cut your losses and go with Reaper?

*Now I, just yesterday with Win 7/64 and a very old smapler from Evolution called Picture Board. Win 7 gave me red circles, would not run it and told me to ask Evo! However, following 'spert advice I told W7 it used to work on XP SP3 and it kindly let me install the software!
