LP to CD recording

Okay, I'm new to this. I have a new HP8575 PC with built-in CD recorder, with a 16-bit sound card, but am unsure exactly which brand. What connections do I make from my phono-out pre-amp (RCA connectors) to my PC to make CD recordings of LPs? Do I need adapters, or are there ready-made connectors with RCAs on one end and PC-type plugs on the other?

The output from the pre-amp phono stage is not going to be of sufficient level to even make a binary 1 on your soundcard's input.

I've made loads of vinyl copies on CD by simply using the Line Out on the power amp attached to the Line In on the soundcard.

You'll need a standard (Radio Shack) stereo RCA -> 3.5mm jack cable

Hope this helps
