Thanks. I was wondering if using a Firewire Audio interface would be better or if I could even do that. Also, if I was using a firewire would I still need those wires?..or other wires?
 
Assuming your computer has a firewire port or room to install one, you could use a firewire interface.
You could invest in a high quality D/A converter if you're just using it for playback.
Those connect to computers in various ways, so you might end up needing some other sort of interface.
If you're trying to record, you're gonna want some sort of interface as the stock soundcard on a computer just isn't up to the task of recording and reproducing high quality audio.
If you went with an interface, you'd need different cables as most of them have separate left and right monitor outputs on 1/4" TRS connectors (instead of the stereo 1/8" headphone out on a computer).
