I need some Sound Card recommendations

Hi,

I'm looking to start recording on my PC, and I need some recommendations on Sound Cards. I'm a bass player, and I only need a few inputs (i.e. 2). I am going to be using Cubase, if that makes any difference.

I've been looking into the Audigy 2 cards. Are they any good for a basic recording setup? And what is the difference between the Audigy 2, the Audigy 2 Platinum, and the Audigy 2 Platinum EX?

Any recommendations (and approximate prices) would be appreciated.

Many people on these boards recommend the M-Audio Audiophile 2496 for $150 over any Soundblaster product for recording.

Ive seen the Audiophile for as low as $139 www.digitalproaudio.com

no reason to get a soundblaster when you can get awesome sound for that price....

I used an Echo Mia for a while and liked it a lot. About $180 or so.
