I have been trained to play jazz piano and classical piano for over 10 years and so I am decently estpblished pianist. Now I want to try the world of synthesizers but have no clue where to start. I know I can not play on 61-note keys so I need something bigger probably 76-key ones. What are some of the reasonable synthesizer/MIDI Controler that I could look at? If MIDI controler is the way to go, what will be the good module to get?

I am hoping for budget around 1200 dollars at max. thanks!

Since you already know what the keyboard should "feel" like, your best bet would be to head on down to the store and just play a whole bunch of them. Then start shopping around for the right price.

well, I went to the music store and looked through and played many. I think I am in similar shoes with yoshi. I liked A-33 by roland quite a bit, the way it felt. But the sales clerk told me that if I wasn't goign to be using computer, really getting MIDI controller is not a good idea because MIDI controller is far more difficult to manage. Is this true?
