Howdy folks. I am now all set up. Alesis QX49, Mixcraft 5, Sony Acid Pro 7, and the ableton lite that came with it. It was pretty simple to get all hooked up. I have been using mainly mixcraft, which apparently isn't compatible with MIDI mapping, so I am tinkering with ableton. I like it, but it will take a while to get comfortable in it. I've played drums for twenty years, and I am looking forward to getting proficient with digital beat making. I've worked with loops before, but I am going to need to take my time and have some patience while starting projects from scratch. I know that there is tons of shit on the e-net and youtube, but does anyone out there have any handy tips? I keep telling myself that it is like any other instrument, patience and practice will pay off.
