Which Focusrite Audio Interface is generally better?

Hey, I've just recently grown interest into music recording and so this is going to be my first set of wheels. I'm just wondering which of the 2 would be generally better. The Focusrite Saffire 6 USB, or the Focusrite Scarlett 8i6. I'm mainly going to be recording vocals and acoustic guitar, and I'm also going to be recording onto a MacBook Pro (if that matters).

My budget will be $200 for the interface, and $300 for the microphone

I am completely open to any suggestions that will work better for my needs.

Thanks

I have a feeling these interfaces have the exact same pre's and converters. The Scarlett has S/PDIF support, which may or may not benefit you, and the Scarlett also uses the MixControl software which provides extra routing options, while the Saffire has all of its routing buttons on the front panel.

I previously owned a Saffire 6 USB and it was great. Since Focusrite tends to use the same pre's and converters in all of its products, I'm sure either interface would sound just fine. Your decision really comes down to the features of each interface and where those features are located.
