I just got this mixer and want to know how to set it up so i can

1. Use it to hear my own voice through my Audio Technica AT2020 as well as hear all the audio from my PC.

2. I will be streaming on Twitch and will mostly be playing PC games but in the case that id like to use my xbox one... how am i going to hear xbox audio? Do i need a toslink converter or something?

Please let me know if you could, what cables and adapters i need. I would really appreciate it. Or point me in the right direction.

Thank you!

PS: Hear is a link to my pc build if needed. https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/DuckGoosed/saved/#view=WD6kcf

The Xenyx 502 is an inexpensive mixer, it does not have phantom power, so you will not be able to use it with a condensor mic like an AT2020. If you have the AT2020USB, you can plug that into your computer. To listen to any audio from your computer you will need to take the audio out from your computer (nothing in your 'build' indicates what you have for audio inputs/outputs) and run that to inputs on the mixer - either to the 2-track input or one set of the line inputs. From the mixer, you can plug in powered speakers to the main outputs, or headphones output to listen to the audio.
If you have audio inputs on your computer, you can run cables from the 2-track output jacks to it.

If the 502 is a new model it does have phantom power but it is not switchable (this is really not a problem despite the horror stories!) If it is an early model then no but you can buy a phantom power box for about $20. However it would be better IMHO to trade in the 502 for the 802 which does have switchable 48V.

I am guessing the mixer is not the USB version? The best way in that case to connect it to the PC is with Behringer's own UCA 202 interface. Now, you might think "just upgrade to the 802 USB". No, the 202 (had 2 ) seems to work better than mixers with a basic built in USB converter.

AFAICT X boxes have RCA (phono) audio outputs and can thus simple feed the mixer with the appropriate cable.

Now of course, many will tell you to chuck in the mixer and buy a modest Audio Interface but, if you need 1 mic + stereo game sound, i.e. 2 extra line inputs, you will struggle to find such an AI under $200.

Dave.

The 502 does have 'phantom power', but at 15vdc. The AT2020 is specced to require 48vdc @ 2ma phantom power for proper operation, so an extra phantom power box would be needed if this mixer is used. The AT2020 may possibly produce audio with the low phantom voltage, but may also not produce the best sound it possibly could.
XENYX- Do The 302 And 502 Have Full Phantom Power?

As Dave suggested, you need a USB interface to get audio to and from the computer. The interface will take the place of the soundcard inside your computer.

I did find a USB version of the 502 Behringer Xenyx Q502USB | Sweetwater.com . Is this the one you have?

Thank you for the replies! This really seems out of my comfort zone...I don't have the USB version.. I think i will go ahead and get the 802 (non USB). From what i understood i also need to get a audio interface because my mic isn't USB? Dave, you recommended the Behringer UCA 202 interface. Is this what i need so i can actually hear my own voice in my headset?

These items here were what i was going to use to get audio from pc to the mixer and then to my headphones which are 3.5mm:

For my mic https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000VJJQUU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
To get audio from my pc: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Y2LANUU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
To plug in my headphones: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01D82XXGO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Also, my xbox one has a Toslink cable...is that why i need a audio interface? What about this: https://www.amazon.ca/Portta-PETDTA...=1483602688&sr=8-2&keywords=optical+converter

As you can tell i'm very new to this. I hope i am able to figure this out soon. Thank you for you're help.

Btw, apparently the Behringer 502 mixer (which i have) does have 48v and is phantom powered. People are saying that on the review for it on the amazon US website. Maybe i should try it out with this mixer?

I'm not sure if i need to get some software or i can just use the Windows Realtek High Definition audio i have on my soundcard... Please advise.

Regarding the 48v phantom power.... did you not read the link in my post above that was on the Behringer site stating the 502 only provided 15v? > XENYX- Do The 302 And 502 Have Full Phantom Power?

"I'm not sure if i need to get some software or i can just use the Windows Realtek High Definition audio i have on my soundcard..."
if you going to stream on Twitch don't you need 'Twitch' software? > https://www.twitch.tv/broadcast
The Twitch software will need to be able to use your Windows Realtek High Definition audio soundcard to get audio to and from the computer.

If I remember correctly, an older version of the 502 did not have phantom power, whereas the newer versions have 15V non-switchable.
Edit: Reading back, I see Dave already said that.....and this thread's old.

I've had a look at the manual for the latest version.

http://downloads.music-group.com/so...Tech GLOB_P0576_M Web EN_2007-11-27_Rev.2.pdf

It states 48 V phantom power and up to 60 dB gain. Seems like there are several generations of this mixer. But if the OP has the latest one, it should be able to handle all mics, from low output ribbons too hot condensers, especially with a -110 db S/R (E/IN -129 db @ 150 Ohm, unweighted). It's still -87 db with an input fader and the main fader @ max. Pretty respectable numbers.

The 502, 802, 1002 and 1202 seem to have the same basic design, as they share the manual.

"If I remember correctly, an older version of the 502 did not have phantom power . . . . " That is correct. I have 2 of them collecting dust. I used them (and may still) for a 'phone mix for other players.
