I have mixcraft pro 7 and just purchased a used Presonus Firestudio Project. I downloaded the Universal Driver on Presonus website but the DAW seems to only recognize the unit in ASIO. When I try to use it like that Mixcraft flags the request and it does not work. Someone please help out the dumb drummer, I am in the middle of a recording project, my Akai EIE works on the Mixcraft no problem but only has 4 inputs, I need the Presonus with 8 inputs to record the set properly.

ASIO is what you want and have to use with the Presonus. It may be Mixcraft that is limiting you. I have never heard that it does not allow ASIO devices, but it is kind of a toy doll DAW...

May be time to move to a DAW that is worthy. Reaper is cheap...
