Cable question about shure sm58 to mobilepre usb

Hi, I recently bought the Shure SM58 mic along with the M-Audio MobilePre USB. The Shure SM58 mic has an xlr output, and the MobilePre USB has two xlr inputs. I am going to purchase a cable to connect the mic to the pre, but I was wondering if I should (or have to) buy the cable (C25E) that Shure sells on their website for the mic. Would I be fine with just buying a general xlr to xlr cable? Thanks in advance.

Any XLR will do. Some prefer spending more on better cables to eliminate any weakest link they can - I am in this boat. I'm not familiar with Shure cables, but for $30 I'd rather get a 15' Mogami (unless you have to have 25' - I'd still look elsewhere).

As aaroncomp said any xlr to xlr will do the job as long as it has a male at one end and a female at the other.

Also If you are just looking cheap for cables look at Musicians Friend the hey cheapos for dirt cheap here http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=rec/search/detail/base_pid/338001/

If you want a great cable the skip that one and get one of these http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=rec/search/detail/base_pid/338010/

or if cheaper but still god is your market look at this http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=rec/search/detail/base_pid/339037/

Or worse come to worse just spend time learning to solder and make your own cables as I do.
I buy Mogami in spools and get a ton of Neutrik plugs and go to town.
