Broadcasting from home

Greetings,

I need to be able to broadcast from home for radio stations. I would be grateful for advice on the equipment that is needed that will complete the job, as inexpensively as possible - the less technical the better, I am afraid

Best wishes and thank you

This could potentially be a little more complex -- "broadcast from home for radio stations" -- What are the *stations* using? Dedicated ISDN? Point-to-point IP? Assuming the average station has at least a (Comrex?) BRIC (about the lowest cost solution I know of) or something that you're going to need to interface with (which means *you* would need a BRIC on your end).

The audio is nothing -- Getting the audio to the station in a way that's acceptable to the station is an entirely different story...

Most radio stations I've ever dealt with have people who assist with this kind of stuff, telling you exactly what to buy. There's a world of difference out their. Some people will need to sound the same as the studio - so they may suggest a mic type, and how you get the audio to them. Other people, like voice over specialists will have a small studio with a variety of kit that allows them to do the day to day jobs they get.

If your 'broadcaster' deems a cheap tinny headset and Skype adequate, then it will be a dirt cheap solution. If they need you to fund your own ISDN line, then the budget is perhaps hundred times higher. Where in this you need to sit, we have no idea.

It tends to be work with about four, or five stations: I don't know their technical requirements. Could you tell me more about BRIC, please?

Microphone and pair of headphones. You can even buy them integrated.

There's plenty of options to record your voice.

I'm sure others that do podcasts could chime in with more, but they would need to know specifically what the radio station's requirements are (as well as whether you also need to stream music in the same feed).

It's just a CODEC (over IP, in this case) box. But you need to find out what those four or five stations use and hopefully there's a common denominator there.
