The style and vocal sound remind me of Bare Naked Ladies. Good vocal performance.

Everything sounds distant. Like the mic was down the hall from the band. Everything is missing a high end. Lot's of reverb. It all combines to make the mix sound small.

Thanks for the input. Im having a hell of a time getting decent MP3's on here. I don't know it it's a Soundcloud thing or what, but things sound as expected on other "devices" (mp3 players of varying types, decent computer speakers,etc.). I noticed the reverb on this posting, and am a bit bewildered because there is no reverb on the stereo bus, and just the slightest amount on the vocals. It does indeed sound like it was recorded form 100 feet away, igk end is missing and the bottom end is thin and muddy. Hmmm...

Hey man - I remember this one from last year when I made made a pretty long analysis of it and specifically mentioned the thin, faraway sound and muddiness.

Don't know if you are just reposting that link, or this is a new mix but I seriously doubt think this is an encoding issue. Why don't you just post a dropbox link or something of the unencoded mixdown and help us help you?

Here's the WAV. I played this back on my "internet" computer ( my recording rig rarely goes on line) and it still sounds like there's 50 lbs. of reverb on it. I don't get it. Is something getting screwed up in the transfer from one box to another via thumb drive? BTW this ins't the same track, but the same basic problem. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ucbq6z7t9...two%20days.wav

My first guess is the difference in playback systems. The reverb is just more noticeable on some systems than others. That seems more likely than reverb being added in a transmission or transformation process (the first being impossible and the second being very remote).
