Hey, that was really cool..I also though, found the rain sound a little distracting in the intro....If I didn't know the title of the song, it would have sounded a little like a couple of strips of bacon frying in a pan, or the sound of a needle placed at the beginning a record album, thats where my imagination woulda gone anyways.......mix, playing, vocals all sound great, enjoyed the listen!
    Lacking focus

I like the song and the mix, but like some of the others here the rain effect throughout the song was a little distracting. You might try this; in the intro start with only the rain for a couple of measures then fade the guitar in as you fade out the rain. Then if you could make the mallet strikes of the glockenspiel just a bit more present, not louder just more distinct, that would continue the rainfall effect. Then at the end, fade out the guitars and fade the rain back in as if you are walking away from the listener. Of course I don't know if these changes would make it better, they might make an otherwise nice mix sound like absolute crap. I just thought I would give you my thoughts on this because that is the way I have been hearing it in my head since I first listened to your song.

Again let me say great song.

Thank you to everyone who has took the time to comment and have a listen. What I thought was a stupid/silly little song got some rather surprising liking. I'm putting this tune to bed for a bit now while I crack on with more recording. Here's a final rough mix, I'll go back to it at a later date and 'finish' finish it

I added new vocals to this and a bit of guitar to the end. Removed a bit of the rain sample and dropped a bit of the bass out of the guitar.

sounds very pristine... my only complaint is the vocals dont sound FULL enough, if that makes sense... and the (what sounds like) nylon string guitar panned left, sounds strictly percussive.... sounds like too much attack and not much warmth.. other than that, good show

Sadly, I'm not a fantastic singer. I did try but didn't like the double tracked vocals on this, sound too full, so left it as a solo vocal.

What you hear panned left is the Ukulele, strummed with a finger nail, it tends to sound like that in general and it was the first time I've ever recorded a Uke. Only had it just over a month. Maybe I need a leather pick. I'll obtain one next time I'm at the shop.

Cheers for the comments and listening. Appreciated.

ah you know i THOUGHT it sounded like a ukelele but assumed it wasnt because its a rarity to hear in a song like that, so very cool. you could probably tame the pick noise by dipping the attack area in the EQ without effecting the tone. and the vocals sound like they were performed fine (a lot better than some people i've heard) just maybe a very small room reverb (you know... one of those that doesnt actually sound like reverb) might fatten her up. but its not a must.

Late reply to this. I didn't see the post. I'll look into you EQ suggestion when I finish up the mix. I've made a note.

    Cheers
