Under Stone

I have a really nice sounding Breedlove Master Series guitar. Using an Octava 012 small condenser and a Focusrite ISA one pre. And probably a less than par room to record in.

I have tried MANY different mic positions from straight at the sound hole to 12th fret to behind the bridge to right at the first fret. 6", 1', 3', and 5' space. On the floor pointing up and from up above pointing down. Also tried a reflecting sound off of hard wood flooring...

Different strings have not made a difference yet. Might try more.

Always have to HPF from around 200hz down. Also sounds very boxy or woody too. Really having a tough time with it. Have not tried to record from listening position yet.

Might need a parlor guitar for recording...or maybe a less sensitive mic.
