Why is it that you people always seem to rag on the Gonzo?
Maybe I'm in the dark on something, but I have no problems with him posting his tunes.

Sometimes I listen, most times i don't.
But then again, Iisten to very little here at HR.

Who's playing slide? Been listening to a lot of Derrick Trucks lately. Definitely sparks my interest in learning slide. :D

Well, there's a lot of attention whores on HR. I guess to some degree we all are, based on wanting others to hear our music :D

But the true attention whores want a monopoly where only 'their' music gets heard and commented on.

Heaven forbid others might be pushing their tunes.

So like TAE says, keep em coming. :D

Edit : for clarity, I shouldn't generalize. There's not "a lot of attention whores on HR"
There's a few attention whores.
The vast majority are here not out of a narcissistic desire. :D

i'm just posting my stuff off of a new album release,
and never thought it was over the line.

RFR,
on this tune, i played everything.

so, on one of those pics at top of post, there is a shot of a Carvin DC200k...... it's an older carvin, made of solid Koa.
it's got a gibson scale length on it,
similar to the scale length on the SG's that Trucks plays...

i'm a big fan of Trucks, and tedeschi, he plays in standard tuning a lot, which is what i did on this one.
on the 'Long Journey' tune, i did a lot of open tuning, and on the 'melange' song, i used standard tuning.

i have both plexi and metal slides, i think i used the metal one on this one, cuz it sounds harsh,
which was the intent.


thanks for asking about the tunes,
that's really the main reason i post, to share mix and tracking info,
i like the geek stuff.

It's just that in the time I've been here I've seen people giving you crap. I don't know why.
You're just doing what you're supposed to....recording and posting music. :)

I tend to get annoyed when I see people get shit if even only in a passive-agressive way .

Anyway.... I personally like your stuff. It's different from what I do and gives me a different perspective.

On the slide. How much practice you figure it took to be decent? I get frustrated.

With open tunings and a glass slide I can get semi-acceptable results but have to bring up my action. So, guys that pull off slide with standard tuning and 'normal' action impresses me.

appreciate the support man, really do,
i do not know why a certain few people on this forum constantly put me under fire,
but no matter.......

i know what i'm putting out rocks, and i know there are a lot of rockers here that dig this kind of stuff...
i'm sharing for those who want to learn as well....
i'm always willing to talk about the geek stuff if someone asks.....

ithis is not the kind of music you are going to hear on the radio,
and it's not going to fit into a nice little box.....

it's a bit different, which is by design.

so again, i appreciate the comments and the positive vibe.
