Pre-production ideas for a heavy, melodic, dynamic & groove-laden rock track?

Pre-Pro Rock Demo & Invitation Out To Singers

Not! Well, that's what I was going for:rolleyes:
Notice the question mark at the end of the thread title.
It is a rock track of various musical moods; I just don't know to what degree it meets the stated criteria.
If I can be convinced that it does meet that description and that it's worth the time, I'll follow through on the track.

The music was composed by myself and is yet to be perfected. Namely, the guitars.
Admittedly, the amp modeling is mud city. The performances and rhythm guitar (especially during the leads) lack precision & distinction.
I was coming up with it as I went and didn't have rehearsed material in mind.
No excuses. It's up to me to follow through on what's been sketched.

I have some vocal ideas I'd like to sketch but does anybody else want to add a dynamic rock vocal for fun?
Vocals are what's truly missing and can really give the parts a lift;)
The track is called "Escape Artist (You're the Best)".

Thanks for listening.

A really nice mix and a great track. The only thing I notice (and this is really minor) is that the rhythm guitars are slightly muddy, perhaps boost the mids/highs a tad so it plays nicely with the crisp kit and bass for the demo?
The lead around the mid fits in perfectly and has a silky smooth tone that I am rather jealous of to be honest!

As for vocalists, I am afraid I am not your man :P

I'm glad for your reply Alphaflux.
That confirms a few things I wanted to know plus a nice bonus:)
I agree about the rhythm guitars. I can work on honing the tones after I record the parts since I can re-amp.
I'm looking forward to tracking more accurate performances now that I know how the parts should be played.
This is one of those tracks that causes me to go back & forth between love and hate.
The thought of vocals gets me excited about the ideas but it's easy for me to get bored of the ideas too.
I'll be patient because I know that the bed track serves the vocal.
I need to get a mic and XLR interface so I can at least lay some scratch ideas.
Just have a mobile guitar interface for now.
And the drums n bass are all self-composed midi tracks triggering VSTi's.

As regards the lead guitar tone, I'm utilizing components in Guitar Rig 4 Pro.
I blended a couple models with a Presonus phaser plugin up front.
It does add a silkiness and warmth I like.

I'll try high-pass filtering the rhythm guitars first.
Whenever I try and EQ modeled guitar it's always honk or fizz;)
