Open to Feedback on my Mixes

Hi Folks,

I'm new to this forum and I just found this Mixing Clinic Section.
I'm not sure if youtube links are ok here, but here is my latest mix, as well as my channel. I've never had anybody critique my mixes so I would love to hear feedback. Maybe there is a common mistake I'm making that I can correct. Always looking to get better.

If I'm breaking any rules by posting youtube links and not MP3's, feel free to delete this thread.

I listend to Ramble On. I thought that was cool. I liked the stereo recording of the drum throne (watch the video if you don't understand). Is that the way Zep did it?

Anyway I thought it was cool.

Yeah, videos are fine.

I watched Late Autumn.

It seems pretty good, but it's a little heavy on the high-end I think, especially in the percussion. The kick and snare are pretty lost in the cymbals and... whatever that thing with the beads is called. I might also pan some of the percussion in a little. Hard pans can be kind of dubious unless you're sure that's what you want.

I agree, the cymbals were too loud on that one. I usually pan aux percussion hard left/right. This allows me to pan guitars and BU vocals partial left and right. I find this fills the space better.

Thanks everyone for the feedback.

all this video did was make me want to come over there and jam in that space. lol. great guitar selection and nice kit. can't wait til i have something like that of my own.

mixes sound very good. looks like Ramble On is pretty fun to jam on bass. I do think that the vocal sounds in a different space than the rest, though you certainly came very close. Maybe someone else can pinpoint just why it isn't fitting as well as it could. Was the vocal track completely dry before your processing?

Listened to them all

I used these tracks for vocals.

I only added a bit of compression and some reverb.
I doubled the BU vocal track and panned hard left and right with a 15 ms delay between the two.

I don't know where I would be without the Roland v-drums. I live in a townhouse, so shared walls. I had to sell one of my acoustic kits to be able to afford the v-drums (8 years ago)
