a newer all original, called "Angel"

Sounds pretty good.

I like the way the audio spectrum builds through the first verse or so.

Some of the percussion hits (e.g. 1:21 and 1:46) sound kind of like clips rather than... hi-hat clamps? Maybe look at some of the frequencies on your hat? notch something out?

2:51 has a legit pop too.

Newer. But not actually "new" hey? :) You're going to save the planet with all this recycling.

"the 3rd album release from Bats Brew, entitled "Stay", a modern/classic rock style concept album.

Time and matter are relative - I don't have the time & it doesn't matter.

hey steve,
thanks for listening and commenting..

anything that sounds like clipping, has got to be on soundcloud's part of the playing field...
the original is clean,
gain structuring is clean,
and no overs on anything on the mastered file.

i just played it back, looking at those moments you describe, and it didn't do it..

i think maybe 'dropbox', hosting a full bandwidth file, may be a better option than soundcloud?
may have to experiment with that.

there are several areas of 'sample' and 'found noise' happening in the mix,
that you wont hear without a pretty decent playback system, and maybe you're hearing something from that...

hey bubba!

no, actually, it IS new!!

LOL

it's a new mix.......mostly for tweaks in the low end.

i'm still trying to improve the original mixes, even tho it's officially been 'released'...

i offer FREE HIGH DEF 24bit/48khz to everyone that purchased my album.....

a few have actually taken me up on the offer,
and enjoy the high rez files a great deal.

you should try offering a similar deal to your fans that you sell your albums to.

Could use a bit more kick to pop out

hey luke, thanks for listening.

MORE KICK, check.

luke, on a full range system, there is plenty of kick,
if you could, please do tell what kind of system you are listening back on,
so i can tailor more kick definition to suit that kind of system.......

CD baby accepts updated and remixed tracks, right? :D

actually, no, i just bypass cdbaby on that stuff..
if i want to send in updated cd's, i just print them myself here in town,
and send them in.
they do not have any say-so in what goes on my actual cd's,
so i can update them at will, and as i run out, i'll send new updated ones in, that's what they sell.

as far as the digital thing goes,
yea, i can't update that.....

so i have folk's emails that purchase a 'digital' album,
and i send them emails offering a free link to either updated 16 bit/44.1khz files,
or high res 24 bit/48khz non-mastered files, if they are REALLY into fidelity!!

so, it's a win-win,
for those that are truly interested,
which i can tell you are.

The 'hope to draw you near' lines really stick out (around 1:40) -not in a particularly good way - they sound like added into the mix after the fact.

HEY MJ,

well, that line, in fact, the entire vocal performance, was done in one pass,
so i guess it's just the way i got closer to the mic and said it lower...

just a subjective thing, i guess, you're the only one that has ever mentioned that line in particular,
which is guess is cool, because it means you are really listening.
