Thanks all for your comments - it has really helped this song become sooooo much better. Just downloaded iZotope Nector to play around with it. Can you hear the difference - worth the $300 they want for the plug?
 
It's nice that it's brighter, but it sounds a bit too bright now - as if the whole thing had a spotlight on it and as if it was viewed through a slight fisheye lens. I listened to the first one you posted. Here's what I'm hearing on this one: some timing issues on the new guitar part you added. I think the vocal would benefit from a de-esser. (Take the new plugin off - does the sibilance disappear?) Also, it's a bit too loud now, I think. (Take the new plugin off - does the level drop back to something more balanced?)
 
Run a de esser on the all of the vocals - it isn't bad but the reverb accentuates it.
I'd prefer the bvox brought in somewhat.
the added guitar is used a little too often the popnotes wear thin quickly.
I think you should use him less - start with a little in the intro & solo then only bring it in when the song needs it.
