First attempt at a Jazz Tune

This is the First Jazz track Ive made (work in progress). So Far I like the guitar sound and drum sound, I used a amp sim for the guitars and EZ Drummer for the drums.
Looking for some feedback on the bass sound. Feel free to let me know of any other improvements that can be made.
 
Bass sounds unlike a jazz bass - all prog growl and aggression.
That's not really a jazz track and the guitar figures make that point.
The rhythm section solo bit is rather odd.
There's no swing to the kit and it sounds too heavy handed to be jazz.
Too much low mid all the way across the track.
Interesting.
 
The bass does sound rather aggressive. If you imagine a double bass in jazz, it has a smooth, warm sound. You're rushing on the guitar chords a bit. If you held them back for a few more ms, the track would be more laid back.
 
I wont really judge whether or not the track is jazz it looks like a cool tune to me that's enough. Im assuming you're gonna be adding some solo parts or voices through the songs. The bass seems pushy on certain notes between 100-300 to me maybe check that out but the rest looks fine.
 
Good feedback, I hear you guys on saying its not jazz, its definitely different I just didn't know what exactly to call it.
Vigo what do you mean by the bass is pushy?
