I threw together a recording of a short song I wrote. It's all DI from an Epiphone Les Paul. The tones are from the dinky Eleven Rig plug-in that accompanies Pro Tools 10 that has two amp models. I've been trying to get some usable guitar tones out of just DI and the basics that PT gives you.

That was really beautiful.

Can't comment on the guitar sounds other than they sounded like pretty nice clean sounds to me. They can maybe use more brightness just to bring them to life a bit more? I don't know, I was enjoying the playing.

I actually took out a lot of the mids around 5KHz because they made the rhythm guitars sound very harsh. I jump from the bottom E to the high E in the intro riff and unless I compress it really heavily, the higher notes pierced my ears.
I'll see if I can figure something out.
 
That's a nice little piece. I was going to ask you to verify that it was a guitar I was hearing at 0:12 until I went back and read your original post.
