I was wondering how I could get some words in a vocals track to get
like a longer delay than the rest

Exemple : when the singer says "run" there would be a long delay of the word

I had 2 ideas in mind for this, either send volume automation of a delay or simply a different track where i would put the words I want to stand out in but of course that could be heavier in CPU usage since i'll have to make the whole insert chain for this new track

How would you guys manage this?

I've done this once or twice in the past and used Send automation. Echo off the last word of a line kind of thing. It was actually pretty easy to do.

The automation is a CPU tickle, not worth considering, the CPU load comes from the plugin which even if you can't hear it's output, is still working.

I almost never automate anything, in the traditional sense. If I need an effect on just one word or whatever, I create a new track, snip that word and put it on the new track and put a delay on that new track.
