Refrence Tracks

We all know the importance of using reference tracks when mixing . I thought it would be interesting to find out if folks have go to tracks for each genre of music ie Rock, Blues, RnB Ect.....
I have a tendency just to find something that brings to mind what I'm working on. Not the most efficient way to do it I'm sure.

TBH I've moved away from feeling I need reference tracks. I have a few tracks I use for calibrating stuff, other than that I have a good idea what my monitors and headphones sound like.

If I'm working on mixes for an album, I usually pull up a few of the other previously mixed/mastered songs at some point to make sure levels are relatively close.

I go by Pinky's sayings, i rarely use reference tracks while working, i'd compare at the end of a mix with similar tracks thought. Lately im working with more pop projects so anything in the billboard is usually good to go. If im working with modern metal i like Periphery's stuff or Polyphia's.
