Panning Backing Vocals?

I was wondering how you guys would pan backing vocals.

I'm going to have a two part harmony as the backing vocals and the have the lead still in the middle. Where would you pan the backing vocals? Would you separate the harmonies? Keep them together? Any ideas?

pan the two harmonies left and right...how far depends on the sound you are going for on the style of harmony it is......

If it's unison, I pan left right, 3 and 9 'o' clock or so, song depending. If it's two part harmony, I put them closer together, favouring either left or right. If it's 4 part, I group them into two's and pan them opposite.

Really depends on the song.
