just to make sure i'm not totally flaking out, i thought i'd post this. cause i am old and forgetful. i use a cr 1604 mackie for jam night at my house. i bought a cfx12 and slid it in it's place. i get 20%volume even with everything maxed out on board. and effects sound awful. i've tried main out, sub out and utility outj, all 1/4 inch plugs. i don't have cords for the other main output. the break switch is off, the gains are all up. everything i can think of is set like i'm used to. thought i'd post before i send this back to seller to see if i'm missing something obvious. would appreciate any help.

Were you using an original CR1604, the one with only 6 mic XLR inputs? Those are odd in that the "0" position on the fader is in the middle of its travel. The "0" position on the CFX12 is higher and marked "U" for unity.
What kind of amp are you connecting it to? Is there something you can adjust there so you can back things off in the mixer?
