Looking for help to get a specific vocal effect

Hi, I hope this is the right forum for this.

I'm looking to add a very specific type of effect to a raw vocal track I'm working on. I've never really done much with effects, so am unfamiliar with what is (possibly) a very typical effect scenario.

Basically, what I'm wanting to do is the kind of light distortion/echo that is on Ani Difranco's vocals on this song:

Any basic thoughts or ideas on how to accomplish this?

Thanks!

Something like Decapitator or another distorting/heavy saturation effect should help get you the distorted vocal effect, and maybe a plate reverb with a high mix and quick decay?

Or you could get a megaphone and use it at a bit of a distance from the mic. Might get you a similar effect depending on how the room sounds.

Many saturators/distortion plugins have presets called something like "telephone" or "megaphone". Basically, they are HP up to about 600hz and LP down to 2khz. An EQ change alone won't do it, you need to distortion on it too. The reverb isn't anything special... just use a short delay or reverb plug.
