Are Higher-End Subs really that much better?

Lost in the Fog
I am considering upgrading to better studio monitors soon. The clarity and imaging is important to me in top boxes. BUT!!! Judging from specs alone, I don't see that also upgrading to a higher end sub is going to change much for the lows.

I already own a low budget sub (Truth B2092A) for my current monitors. It seems to perform just fine as it serves to reveal low frequency problems (pops and rumble) in my mixes. It can also shake the entire house when I am feeling froggy. The crossover is in the sub at 80Hz, so it should accommodate most top boxes. (BTW, my project room is very well treated and I have located the sub based on testing to minimize room modes. I record mostly for hobby and sometimes demos for friends and locals.)

I guess what I am asking is...What will I gain by investing another $1000 or $2000 into a new sub. Is low end clarity all that noticeable and important in a home studio?

Here are a few examples of sub spec comparisons...
