fletcher-munson curve

Some of us are still new to this. I've done a lot of recording (from the other side of the mikes), but I'm very new to recording myself and mixing. If setting my listening environment to a specific dB gives me a peace of mind that my mixes will come out with less diversity of sound, that's what I do. Listening to all my old mixes (from earlier this summer, really old  ), I realized that there is no consistency to the spectrum. Bass is all over the place: highs are up and down from mix to mix. Of course I thought that advice was good advice, but it could also be from recording in a bad environment and not having a consistent listening position...we'll see how well it works when I get a new set of mixes done.
