Well, after reading a few critical reviews on the ATH-M50 Headphones I decided to give them a shot. The chart shows a slight bump in the bass and in the high end too. But it's where the human ear starts to lose the volume of the signal. Still, it is sweetening even if ot is pretty slight . Honestly, they are not bassy at all to me. Nor do they seem to have too much silibance or sizzle. They sound pretty darn flat to my ears. I listened to some old classic rock that I'm very familiar with. The low end and high end sounded exactly like it's supposed to. What sold me on them is the harmonic distortion is extremely low. Better than any other phones in the $100 to $200 range.
To give my 2 cents on the thread topic...
I think I could eq effectively with these phones and get great results.
We shall see.
