I wasn't exactly sure where to put this, but I figured this was as good a place as any. I watched a good documentary last night called The Greatest Ears in Town, which was about the award-winning producer/arranger Arif Mardin. He produced/arranged tons of hits for people throughout his career, including The Rascals, Norah Jones, the Bee Gees, Dr. John, Aretha Franklin, Dusty Springfield, Donny Hathaway, Barbara Streisand, Average White Band, Jewel, Hall and Oates, and tons of others.

He was a really talented guy who could score for just about any sized ensemble in jazz, pop, or classical styles equally well. It was a nice story, and there are some nice, in-studio performances in the film by several of the people with whom he worked. Anyway, it was well done, IMHO, and definitely worth checking out.

It's available for free on Amazon Prime.
