    Top Mastering Software

Know someone maybe have done this a while back, I thought about it from a previous post of discussing mastering software. I am in the process of buying a mastering software here in a little while. Aside from Samplitude I assumed wavlab was tops I had used it and really nothing else. Someone in another post stated CD Architect was better so now I am curious as to what others think. Massive, Walt what do yall use? I think it was Magix Samplitude right?

Sound forge with CD archetect is another one. I prefer Wavelab. Most serious mastering engineers that I know of use samplitude. I'm a recording/mix engineer, I only 'master' things when the project or the budget doesn't warrant sending it to Massive Mastering.

I've been using Wavelab Essentials, but I hate the CD burning function. It's hit or miss with your cd drive. I love everything else about WLE, though. When I'm ready to master my next cd, I'm going to try CD Architect. Or send it to Massive.

I use a combo of Nuendo, SADiE and Wavelab7 here, I can cover pretty much every job using these tools. You seem to be asking about PQ software and that narrows it down a bit as not all DAW's offer this facility.

i've been using samplitude for more than 10 years, but i'm mastering in reaper for over one year now. it is rock stable (not that samplitude wasn't rock stable too), but the main reason is i like the workflow of reaper much better. it has also built in DDP support. i never liked the workflow of wavelab & it seems limited (try to master from stems in wavelab including your outboard gear), but i know other engineers who like it. there is no top mastering software, just one that works best for *you*.
