Suggestions for fixing this?

...other than re-tracking. Not an option.

Short sample of audio from video with a badly distorted spot - I had nothing to do with the production. Just playing with it for a friend. It was done at a local-yokel studio that didn't have their stuff together.

Is there anything out there that will make a substantial improvement in something like this?

Link goes to Google drive. Thanks for all input.

I wouldn't know how to fix that.

What I would hope for is that this is a chorus that is repeated elsewhere, and you can steal an equivalent bit and replace the bad bit.

I was always under the impression that digital distortion cant be undone.

Good luck. Izotope usually has full use time trials.

I actually tried the Izo trial on this. I also find that oddly enough, a declicker on another noise reduction app I have can help. Izo is effective on some of the distortion and clipping problems on this video, however on this particular example I don't find a setting that does anything.
