playback on over devices

hi there..

after recording/mixing/mastering my mixdowns sounds fine on my setup. On "most" other devices such as a laptop etc... i get some kind of distortion occuring on playback (however this doesn't happen with "most" of my mp3 music collection however) i am using VLC player.

I am not clipping anywhere in cubase when recording/post effects

any ideas...

sorry for the short and vague post, time is not on my side atm

think i may of sussed it.... It may be intersample peaks causing the distortion/clipping on some devices. going to use the free solid state logic x-ism plugin to test if this may be the case....
