Ozone 7 (regular)

I have a coupon to upgrade to this. Is it worth it?

I send all projects that get released to a separate mastering engineer (and prefer this, nothing in the software world beats a stc-8, vari-mu or a massive passive IMO) but was wondering if it was worth it for all the other stuff that doesn't fall under that category.

I'm a little bummed at the differences between the one that would run me $350 and the one that will run me $99. I'm coming from ozone 4 and I actually liked ozone 4 quite a bit.

Although I have to say I was mainly useing the limiter and dither. I never used widening and rarely would touch the eq or multi band comp.

You use pretty much what most people I know with Ozone use (the limiter and dither). That said, $99 for an upgrade (even if only leaner / modernized code, as I have no idea if the limiter was actually changed in any way) isn't a really bad thing...

Yeah I went ahead and did it. Like I said anything serious gets sent out to another guy with hardware costing more than both my cars.

Plus I despise mastering my own stuff.

But I do like ozone to get an idea of how things might go at that stage.
