Looking for Beta testers (major update!) for the Noiz-Lab 7-step mastering suite

Hi guys,

We‘ve gotten a lot of great feedback on our 7-step mastering suite the past couple of months, and we’re very happy that so many people found the time to try it out! Thank you very much! In the meantime we have been working on a major update of the suite. We improved the plug-ins on many levels:

• We incorporated many clever ideas our Beta users came up with.
• We made the plug-ins cross platform: VST2 and VST3 for PC, and AU, VST2 and VST3 for MAC, 32bit and 64bit. (AAX will follow)
• We rewrote all of our algorithms and made the plug-ins sound and run much smoother.
• We added new functionality to the plug-in interfaces to make them more user friendly.
• We have improved the plug-ins greatly in terms of efficiency, size and memory usage.
• We have solved all known compatibility issues.

In short, with your help and the feedback of our other Beta users, we are now – two years after we started this project - very close to releasing our first official version of the suite! As our new August beta, we’ve put up the improved 32 bit VST version for PC of the suite. Here’s a link: Try it now. We are very curious if problems you might have had before, are now indeed all solved by this new release. The next two weeks we’ll be preparing all the other Beta’s for release as well: VST2 and VST3 for PC, and AU, VST2 and VST3 for MAC, both 32bit and 64bit. We hope that there are some MAC users out there who are willing to give our suite a try too.

We are still very much open to feedback, because we will continue to improve on the plug-ins. So, if you have questions or suggestions about our 7-step mastering suite, don’t hesitate to contact me at JD@noiz-lab.com or post your findings on our forum: http://www.noiz-lab.com/forum.

Thanks again for all your help!

All the best,

JD

Hi JD.........been using your Noiz-Lab mastering suite for some time now and have even provided you some feedback. I opened up Reaper this weekend and to my surprise I found that all the Noiz-Lab plugs were "expired" !!!! In itself that would not be a big deal but it seems that expiration also disables playback in Reaper of any song that used the plug. Long story short........no audio from the master stereo track at all. What I found was that I had to go into every song in the effect section and "remove" any Noiz-Lab effect and then the master track audio would work. Wasn't aware there was an expiration and didn't see any warning. To say the least.............that took me some time.

To be honest.........as I feedback to you previously........the suite works very nicely and was becoming my go to. I know it was free...........but hey........a little warning would be nice.

Yo, if we really dig the plugins can we support someplace? ($$$)

Hi Mickster,

I’m sorry for the confusion, but there are several places we explain that the beta will expire, but will also be updated the first of every month. The information on the try-it-now/download page, the email you get when you have downloaded the suite and the .txt file that comes with the download. I understand your frustration, but I hope you understand our point of view: we want only complete and stable versions of our suite floating around on the Internet. We did just upload an updated version of the suite (cross platform) that runs until the 1st of October… This version doesn’t go silent after expiration anymore, but just lets the audio through. Which is, I totally agree, a much better solution.

All the best,

JD

Hi Vigo,

I get a bit nervous when people offer me money ;) But we very much hope we’ll get the opportunity to grow as a business and will be able to raise the funds to attract specialist programmers and UI designers for building new plug-in suites and continue to improve on our current mastering suite. That being said, we might integrate a ‘donate’ function on our website. (I’m also trying to come up with something we could do in return for donations). At the end of the day, we are all just music enthusiasts so any help is welcome… Thanks for your question!

Cheers! JD

Thanks JD........I understand completely and as I mentioned..........your Mastering Suite is a favorite of mine. Just wasn't prepared to have the songs go silent. Caught me at a time when I was trying to go over a list of songs for a compilation and was pressed for time. No big deal.........

Hi Mickster,

Aargh, having worked as a composer a lot, I understand and sympathize. Well, just send me a message at JD@noiz-lab.com if you run into any trouble again. We’re very glad you found a use for our beta release and are more than happy to help you out…
