New BatsBrew Album - "Stay"

yeah, I did my digital dist thru cdbaby, too, and also using bandcamp, because they offer flac and WAV, too.

it's a good way to do it, IF you do not care about discs...

i've found that most people that want my stuff are asking for discs,
so i always print a small amount for that.

Yep, me too, so I use Kunaki, and also offer Amazon 'print on demand' through Createspace, in case they don't do Paypal (direct from me).

heads up, cdbaby continued the .01 shipping

but the flac files sound just as good as the disc,
if you are into that kind of thing

How is it going with promotion/sales? Curious how you move most of your stuff. Do you sell at gigs or anything like that?

nah, no gigs,
nobody is buying it,
promotion is strictly word of mouth,
you know, big time stuff.

heheh

gregL suggested i post tunes off of the album in this forum,
so i'm going to add them in as i upload them,
and they wont be up for more than a week at a time....

first one:

HEAVEN

this was a collab with an internet friend, who supplied all the synth parts.
this is the last song on the album, the closer, so to speak

i definitely buy stuff i like.
support the indies, all that.....

this is really good stuff.

why not buy and support?
what's the point otherwise?

i think you are right phil,
but i hope not.
rock on.

Hi Gonzo. :)
Who are some of your favorite indie artists/labels? Got a top 10 of 2015?

very short list:

indies that are pro:

muse
st vincent
pavement
raconteurs
mogwai
imogen heap
queens of the stone age
kings of leon
porcupine tree
eagles of death metal
Cosmosquad

indies obscure:
the pawns, last things first
Kettlefish, Prime
Tim Hazell and Doug Robinson and the Forest of Americas Ensemble
bruce muckala-Running Sideways

I'll buy a CD when I see a band/artist play somewhere, but rarely buy otherwise. At home I've just been streaming on Spotify recently.

Radiohead is technically "indie" now too, since they do their own online distribution thing. Do they still use a label for their CD distribution? Do they own their own label?

still a few discs left,
but i have to say i've become favorable of the FLAC downloads...

it's cool that cdbaby even offers this,
probably the best alternative to standard or even high def mp3's

i still haven't heard the AIFF itunes versions yet,
would love to have some feedback on those...
