what's a good brand of bass guitars to use for hip hop tracks?

i`m lookin to incorporate some live bass into some of my tracks and i wanna know if anyone else out there does this and what they`re usin...

I guess that the most used type of bass guitar in rap today is a 'Jazz Bass'... I was told that Fender makes pretty good ones...
