In all honesty, after hearing this...I'm a bit jealous. Not in the sense that I'ma start hatin on you (ain't my style, always got love for ya'll - no homo). But jealous in the sense that your fam is all about supporting you.
Mine often told me that I should stop, not because they didn't think I wasn't good at it, but because I didn't do the Will Smith clean cut nice guy bit. My moms said she'd never support me if I didn't go out like that so I had to say "sorry for ya" and spit about stuff I wanted to talk about. Keep in mind that she doesn't curse, I curse like a drunken sailor (i just don't see much wrong with it).
My moms and pops got pissed off when I got a copy of Doggystyle and The Chronic back in the day and brought it home (I was like 13 just getting into rap)...yet now they're all like "we love Snoop" and act like the shit never happened. (hypocrites).
