sampler cd rom drive

can you use any scsi externat cd rom drive??or does it have to be a specific one for that sampler,,,, im gonna get an emu esi 2000 . I dont want to pay a lot of money for a cd rom drive,, i see slow ones one ebay for cheap.. can i use an internal scsi cdrom drive and just rig a case for it?? im good with pcs . i build em .
any info ... pleaze ,,,

Emu has info on their site about compatability.Youll be using an external cdrom drive. And then what you do is remove the floppy drive and install a zip or jaz or orb drive to store your sounds for quick access. I think you may be able to use a cd rom on your computer if it has an scsi card(but the computer cant read esi samples except with a special program called esi-win).
