Is there any sound card out there in the market that has multiple channels, has its own DSP, + allows different processing of EACH channel during playback?
Like, instead of plugging a DX plugin into a track on your multitracker, just assign an effect from the soundcard's internal DSP to that certain track. And also be able to record that certain track's wetness as you affect it, onto another track?
Im hoping that something like this is made is is already made cuz it would really revolutionalize the way we use realtime effects. And it could really bull or bear the market of DX.
They should make something like "THE EXTERNAL DX BOX", where its like a small HD you could load your favorite directX plugins onto and use them in your DAW multitracker. This will take away the massive CPU usage from regular realtime processing.
