I would like to use the insert jack to record vocals to reaper with my uca222 sound card. I currently can record using the stereo out and also using the rec out. I would like to monitor with the effects but record only the "raw" voice. I have read that you are able to insert a cable into the insert jack 1 click and then you should be able to still hear yourself in your monitoring headphones (volumes and effcts will be applied to the phones but not to the recording, I would have to use the gain to set the level for the recording) and it will record as well. I am using a 1/4 to stereo rca cable to insert in the insert jack and hook up to the rca on the uca222 sound card. I can hear myself but it will not record anything. Do I need to set up anything differently? Different cable?
