I have been playing around with digital recording for quite a while and would really like to get more professional. I was wondering if anyone is using the new Pro tools for windows? I think it the digi001, I was looking for any thoughts on it, and also, how much does it cost??
My setup is very amateur, I've been trying to mulitrack using some of the software I have now but the quality is poor because I don't have a mixer so the signal is not great. Basically I am trying to find the most inexpensive way to get pro quality and features.
 
Digi 001 is around $860-1000.

It's software is a PRO Tools light version.

Mutt21, Pro Tools lite that comes with the Digi001 is about 98% of Pro Tools and all the projects you do with it can be used in any studio that uses Pro Tools. Here's the Digi link http://www.digi001.com Shailat is correct about the price. It just recentley came out for Win98 so you might consider waiting a bit for some debugging if you plan on getting it. Also check out the Digi User conference. There is a lot of feedback there.
