portable multi track recorders

Hi has anybody got any clues on whats a good quality small digital portable multi track recorder? as I'm new to modern gear & it all seems over whelming. Any input would be appreciated. no pun intended or maybe. :spank:
 
There are a couple of things you need top decide first.

What do you want to accomplish with it? What's your budget?

My 5 year old Boss Micro BR works great for what I use it for......recording band rehearsals. I then transfer it to my DAW, edit out the junk and dead space and make copies for the guys to review.

I'll even track a quick solo acoustic recording once in a while.

Works great for my purposes but, I wouldn't want to try and produce a CD from it. Though some have.........
