Well, my Presonus Firepod finally crapped out on me. It died like many others have due to overheating. When I opened it up I had noticed that the lacquer form the transistor had spewed everywhere. I was thinking about replacing the part but I will most likely also have to replace other components like caps and whatnot. Besides, if I melt the silicone its toast.
I'm currently looking at the Mackie Onyx Blackbird and the Focusrite Saffire Pro 40. What else is out there that I may have glanced over? I am reluctant to invest in another Presonus product because of my experience with this one.
