ALL HELP WILL BE APRECIATED.

The answer is Yes. it can be done. BUT
what model fostex? what outs does it have?

S/PDIF DIGITAL AND STEREO ANALOG OUTPUTS ARE AND I WAS CURIOUS IF U CAN TELL ME A COOL EASY SOFTWARE FOR MASTERING THAT MAY HAVE EFECTS ON IT

the easiest way is to get an interface for your laptop with Spidif ins and outs.. You might have to get a USB interface like that new tascam u-428 or whatever is is. Or some soundcard with spidif (laptop people please help!!) Then just send your mixed-down 2track signal to your computer, choose mastering software (Sonic Foundry Sound forge??) Master, then send to an external tape recorder.
make sense?

xoxoxo
