how to make a DAT copy from a PC computer

Can someone tell if it is possible to connect a DAT machine to the computer (PC Pentium II) and make a copy of my music? I currently use a SCSI Yamaha burner and would like to make a copy of it on a DAT as well. Any suggestions?
Thanks a bunch.

You need a soundcard that has digital I/O that is the same as the digital I/O on your DAT machine. Most pro Dat players use AES/EBU for digital interface. Most consumer Dat players use S/PDIF digital interface. Either should work fine.

A little trick though. Put lots of space at the beginning of the music that is going to be transfered. It takes sometimes up to 10 secs. for the digital time code to sync together when doing transfers. To make this easier, just make one long .wav file rather then individual songs, if you hard drive will play back for long periods of time without having clitches.
