    So my story is this.
    I have a lovely 39 year old cw-80 maton. Best sounding guitar i have ever heard. I've recently purchased two rode nt5 to record it with.
    But now i am stuck with what "Digital Recorder/Interface" I was going to purchase a boss br-80 micro recorder as i would record 2 mics for guitar then later do vocals.

    I was just wondering after spending the money on the rodes will the br-80 capture the lovely sound of my maton!

    Thanks for the help!

    Also..

    Also looking at mbox (3rd gen) just curious if the built in pre amp is good enough.

    Maton = good
    NT5s = good
    micro recorder = I'm not sure. I haven't used them. Will they accept a pair of external mikes? Can you do multi-tracking, i.e. add vocals later?

    Maybe you need a standalone recorder that can do these things.

    Or maybe look at interfaces and do everything on a computer.

    I have a theory about that

    I've given the mirco recorder the scrap. Not what im looking for. Can anyone tell me more about mbox and its preamp. Or what i should be leaning towards Stand-alone or interface and what has worked good for you!
